               When Jehovah inspected His People, He found them to be in utter apostasy against Him and therefore would need to be disciplined before He could later restore them to His favor such that they could afterwards become the primary instrument used by Him to implement the “Abrahamic Covenant” towards the rest of mankind.  (Genesis 22:17, 18; Hebrews 8:12)
