           After Russell separated from Barbour, he began teaching that the time of the end began as early as 1799 and that Christ’s invisible presence began in 1874. The year, 1874, would also see the beginning of a forty-year harvest which would culminate in 1914 when all the anointed Christians would be taken to heaven and the Gentile nations would be destroyed at Armageddon, making way for the heavenly kingdom to begin its rulership. He was still using Barbour’s calculations in his teachings.
