               C. T. Russell actually taught that the churches were the principal part of Babylon the Great and he encouraged all to leave these churches.  He believed that they were filthy in God’s eyes because of their blasphemous teachings such as the trinity and hell-fire doctrines and their downright hatred of God’s name.  It would not be reasonable to believe that Jehovah or Jesus would ever go into such an environment and anoint anyone because these ones would also be filthy because of their being in this filthy environment.
