             Being a footstep follower of Jesus means that one would be willing to take a position that would be uncomfortable.  At Luke 14:26, Jesus stated that one would be required to “hate” his close relatives including his wife.  At Matthew 10:34-39, Jesus even said that he did not come to bring “peace” but a “sword.”  Because of following him, a person would be at enmity with his family.  He must show that “truth and righteousness” are more important to him.
