           He was speaking of the partial knowledge and the partial prophesying that constituted the teachings of the first century Christians. Paul recognized that they did not have a complete understanding of the Hebrew scriptures at that time. He recognized, as he stated at 1 Corinthians 13:11, 12, that "at present we see in a hazy outline, by means of a metal mirror." He knew that the first century Christians had only an indistinct or hazy understanding of Bible prophecy. The application of Hebrew prophecies to themselves was only partial or incomplete. This partial understanding found in the Greek text would by necessity be replaced when a more complete understanding of prophecy was revealed.
