Answer #11
Jesus’ illustration about the good Samaritan recorded at Luke 10:29-37 teaches us to put aside any national pride or prejudice and be a real neighbor to our fellowman, not matter what his race is. Jesus was not afraid to dine with tax collectors as the account of Zacchaeus recorded at Luke 19:1-10 shows. He did not fear what the Pharisees said about this. He was even willing to enter the home of a Roman Centurion in order to heal his servant. But the man stopped him from doing so before he could do it. He was willing to do this in spite of the fact that Jewish tradition strictly forbade this. This account is recorded at Luke 7:1-10. Note this is Jewish tradition not Jewish Law.
