           At Matthew 19:28, Jesus told his apostles that during the re-creation or re-generation (Greek, palingenesis) they would sit on thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel. This, of course, would be from a heavenly vantage point, as their thrones are in heaven. This earthly nation of "Israel" is now in apostasy and in need of a spiritual restoration.
