           Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that direct inspiration is a "gift of the spirit" and that these gifts ceased in the first century. However, they say that Jehovah directs His people through use of His Holy Spirit. If anyone among this organization were to make the claim today that he was inspired, he would be disfellowshipped.
