         Jehovah stated to Abraham that someone from his lineage, a seed, would be the means by which the nations of mankind could bless themselves. Later Jehovah concluded a covenant with Abraham’s descendants through Jacob, the nation of Israel, which, if they were obedient to, would bring them many blessings. They would not only produce this "seed" but they themselves would become a royal nation.
