         Jehovah tested Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden as to whether they would obey Him. (Genesis 2:15-17) He also tested the nation of Israel when they came out of Egypt and were in the wilderness. He wanted to find out if they would be loyal to him, to find out what was in their hearts. (Deuteronomy 8:2, 3)
