              They claim that the context, verses 3, 15, 30-42 of Ezekiel chapter 16, show this “adulterous woman” represents unfaithful Jerusalem and as such “could only represent apostates, those following a “prostitute course of infidelity to the God whose name they claim to bear.”  Yet they failed to consider verses 59-62 of this same chapter.  These verses show that this same “adulterous” woman’s sins are atoned for and she is restored to God’s favor and is given an “indefinitely lasting covenant.”   This means that if the above verses are to be applied to Christendom, then the latter verses would have to also be applied to them if the context is what’s being considered in making the correct application.
