               Although Russell exposed many pagan teachings such as “hellfire, trinity immortality of the human soul, yet it was not until 1931 that they discovered that celebrating Christmas, Birthdays and the use of the Cross were of pagan origin.  The 1975 Yearbook explains that “beginning with its issue of October 15, 1931, the Watchtower magazine no longer bore the cross and crown symbol on its cover.”  Therefore, we could hardly say that they had been freed from Babylonish teachings as of 1919.
