The Watchtower Society in their publication "Insight on the Scriptures" writes that what men were doing at that time was a "deliberate misuse of the "Name of God, a defamation of this Divine Name." But a worldly source, "The Expository Bible Commentary" takes a different view. They write that ‘during Seth’s day, people already practiced true worship of the God of the covenant.’ They quote Genesis 4:26 to prove this point. They also noted that what was happening during Moses’ day was not something new but rather a return to pure worship of the true God that had been started in Seth’s day.
