Jeremiah Chapters 46-50 Prophecies Concerning The Nations

#1 Post by Patrick » Mon Nov 08, 2004 8:18 pm

Greetings Y.O.R.W.W. Congregation :D

Attention Bejay:

Today, LivingWaters scheduled Bible reading has taken us into another set of most interesting Prophecies--Jeremiah's Prophecies concerning the Nations.

Jeremiah begins with a set of prophecies against Egypt and--according to the Ryrie NIV study Bible--seems to end with Babylon.

A couple of interesting verses in Jeremiah's prophecies against Egypt are:

"Egypt rises like the Nile...She says, 'I will rise and cover the earth.' " Jeremiah 46:8 NIV

"Egypt is a beautiful heifer, but a gadfly is coming against her from the North." Jeremiah 46:20 NIV

Both of these verses sounds somewhat similiar to what Daniel describes in Daniel 11:40-41 during "the time of [the] end..." NWT

Is there any parallel between Jermiah's Prophecies Concerning The Nations of the past and of the modern-day Nations :?:

Thanks very much for your time and consideration.

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

I'm glad you are enjoying your daily bible reading program with us, at LWF.

Now, for the matter at hand. Actually at this time, the YORWW Congregation hasn't made that particular connection yet as you describe. Meaning, thus far, we don't see any particular prophetic connection with the events described in Jeremiah 46:8, 20 to modern-day events as shown in Daniel 11:40, 41.

Hope this helps..
